Welcome!
“Traditional psychotherapy meets woo-woo shit” is how I would generally sum up my practice. I have always wanted to know more about the layers underneath the layers, the mysteries…the universe that exists in each one of us. As a naturally curious human, my approach is gentle yet direct. I believe in addressing behavioral health holistically, which for me includes not only the physical, emotional, social and mental, but the energetic and spiritual as well. All of this is rooted in my extensive study and practice of psychotherapy and evidence-based modalities over the years. I provide you with practical, everyday tools to better identify, process and cope with stressors in a way that feels healthiest to you. My additional background as a yoga instructor and Reiki practitioner allows me to incorporate physical and energetic remedies that help to further integrate mental and emotional shifts that you are making, which strengthens your work in traditional “talk therapy.” As a trauma-sensitive professional, I am conscious of change happening in your own time, with your permission, and at your comfort level. Come as you are!

The meaning behind the name...
My inspiration for Newfound Insights comes from being a Newfoundland dog mom. These gentle giants seem like a perfect analogy for therapy. While they may look big and scary from afar (they truly look like bears!), once you get closer and meet these lovable floofballs, you soon realize what a delight they are to be around. Kind of like getting to know yourself in therapy…it may be intimidating at first but once we start the process, we often find that there can be joy, humor and healing, even when confronting those deep, dark places. Newfoundlands also happen to be excellent swimmers and are often trained as rescue dogs. In my world, water is symbolic of our emotions; the ebb and flow of which is part of our nature. Therapy can be our rescue when we feel as though we are “drowning.”

You may also be wondering where the “intuitive” part comes in with therapy. Intuition has been described as a cognitive process that is based on our knowledge, experience and emotions. I use my intuition in session to tune into your unique needs, just as I encourage you to tune into your own inner knowing. I aim to hold a safe space for you to discover the wisdom you already carry within, to navigate life as your most authentic self.
Meet Megan
I am a licensed therapist and graduated with my master’s degree in social work from UW-Milwaukee in 2014. I have experience working in many different levels of care in Behavioral Health, including outpatient, PHP, IOP and MAT/MOUD. I am also trained as a 200-hour yoga instructor and recently completed Reiki Master attunement.

I am a wife to a law enforcement officer, mother of twin toddlers, and circus ringleader of two giant dogs and a bossy cat. Our life is messy and beautiful. I love nothing more than to be out in nature, whether alone or with the whole family. I am passionate about creating a sense of community and togetherness with other local providers and businesses that support wellness. As I have said many times since becoming a twin mom, “it takes a village!”

Finding the right therapist can be stressful. It’s important that we connect with one another before scheduling an initial session. This allows us to see if we are a good fit for one another without you being billed for this time or having to divulge all of your information only to feel I am not the right therapist for you!

No Surprises Act
The No Surprises Act aims to increase price transparency and reduce the likelihood that clients receive a “surprise” medical bill by requiring that providers inform clients of an expected charge for a service before the service is provided. Starting January 1, 2023, behavioral health care providers have been required by law to give uninsured and self-pay clients a Good Faith Estimate of costs for services when scheduling care or when the client requests an estimate (whichever occurs 1st).
Prior to the implementation of the No Surprises Act, all psychotherapists already had/have an ethical obligation to provide advance notice of costs and fees for every patient. The No Surprises Act builds off of that and asks the private practice practitioner to provide further formal disclosures of anticipated fees.
All Newfound Insights Intuitive Therapy clients will receive a Right to Receive a Good Faith Estimate Information Summary, outlining additional detail when establishing services.
